Ingredients

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Butter cubed and cold
  • 1 1/2 cup Cheddar Cheese shredded
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Chives chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 3/4 cup Milk

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cut the butter into cubes and put them in the freezer while you prepare the rest of your ingredients.
  • Whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Set aside while you shred your cheddar cheese & chop up the chives.
  • Add cold butter into the flour mixture and work each piece of butter into the flour until only about pea sized pieces of butter remain.
  • Add in cheddar, chives, garlic powder and pepper and toss into the flour mixture.
  • Add in milk and combine until you create a shaggy dough - you may need a splash more of milk if there’s flour at the bottom of the bowl that won’t incorporate.
  • Dump your dough out and mold into a rectangular shape about 1 inch thick.
  • Cut into about 8-10 biscuits and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown on the top.
  • Brush a little melted butter & flaky salt on top or enjoy plain!
