Course Appetizer, Side Dish, Snack
- 2 cups Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup Butter cubed and cold
- 1 1/2 cup Cheddar Cheese shredded
- 1/4 cup Fresh Chives chopped
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
- 3/4 cup Milk
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Cut the butter into cubes and put them in the freezer while you prepare the rest of your ingredients.
Whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Set aside while you shred your cheddar cheese & chop up the chives.
Add cold butter into the flour mixture and work each piece of butter into the flour until only about pea sized pieces of butter remain.
Add in cheddar, chives, garlic powder and pepper and toss into the flour mixture.
Add in milk and combine until you create a shaggy dough - you may need a splash more of milk if there’s flour at the bottom of the bowl that won’t incorporate.
Dump your dough out and mold into a rectangular shape about 1 inch thick.
Cut into about 8-10 biscuits and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown on the top.
Brush a little melted butter & flaky salt on top or enjoy plain!
