Easy Homemade Slow Cooker Apple Butter
This apple butter is a perfect way to use apples picked in fall so be sure to save for the recipe below. It can be eaten on toast, in overnight oats, and in breads, muffins, and cinnamon rolls. The delicious possibilities are endless!

- 9-10 cup Granny Smith Apples
- 1 cup White Sugar
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Ground Nutmeg
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1/2 cup Water
Put all ingredients in a slow cooker and toss to combine.
Cook covered on high for 1.5 hours until apples soften, then remove lid and cook on low for 4-5 hours until apple skins are mostly dissolved. Stir occasionally.
Use an immersion blender to blend apple mixture until smooth.
Cook another 2 hours if desired to deepen flavor before moving into a glass jar to store in the fridge. Apple butter will last up to 3 months in the refrigerator or 1 year in the freezer!
